There are lots of parenting tasks that require hard work; it comes as part of the package. But, there are three things that are spoken about in whispers. The three toughest tasks for every parent, bath time, bedtime and school time. These three things are a real test of our patience. However, with the help of a few tips, they can be a lot easier.

I can’t tell you the amount of hours I’ve spent trying to get my kids to have a bath. For some strange reason, they always try to resist. I’ve never understood why children don’t like baths, all you’re doing is having a nice clean.
The trick is finding out how to make bath time more fun. Instead of making it seem like a chore, make it exciting. You can buy toys for them to play with in the bath, so they’re entertained the whole time. What I like to do is get lots of different bubble baths. Kids love playing with bubbles, so cool bubble baths are a great way to keep them happy. Once you add the element of fun, bath time gets a lot easier.

Trying to get your kids into bed at night can be a massive pain in the backside. Kids seem to run on an everlasting energy, I sometimes wish I had some of it! But this means that they’re never ready to go to bed when it’s their bedtime. They scream and shout and have to get carried upstairs. And once you get them in bed they’re still not ready to admit defeat. They stay up and make more noise, it can take an hour just to get them in bed and asleep.
There are a couple of tactics you can use here, but I have a personal favourite. My go-to tactic is making sure your kids are tired at the end of the day. This means playing with them a lot and keeping them busy throughout the day. Go on long walks and bike rides, let them use up all that energy. Then, when bedtime comes, they’ll be too tired to resist.

Arguably the hardest task of them all. It’s hard getting your kids to wash, it’s hard getting them into bed, but it’s even harder getting them to school. It’s not so much that they don’t want to go, some kids love school. It’s just the awful morning rush, making sure everyone is ready on time. You have to get them up, make breakfast, and then get them dressed and out the door.
My top tip here is to get everything ready the night before. Get all their clothes sorted, find their shoes and prepare the packed lunches. This will save so much time as you won’t be rushing about looking for stuff or preparing things.
The next time you have to perform one of these tasks, think about the tips I’ve given you. I’ve tried them myself, and can say that they make a huge difference!
