How to Throw Your Child a Cool Birthday Bash

If your child has a birthday coming up, one of the best things you can do for them that they’ll really appreciate is throw them a cool birthday bash. Birthday parties are always exciting, especially for kids who get to invite their friends over and have an amazing time. They’ll no doubt be worn out by the end of the day and sleep soundly come bedtime! It’s up to you whether you have the party at your house or in your garden, or perhaps even in a rented hall. Either way, there will be mess that will be up to you to clean up. But never mind that now, here’s how you can make your child’s birthday party very cool and exciting:

Create a Theme

Why not create a theme for your child’s birthday party? This could be anything at all – use your imagination and get creative! Perhaps they’re a huge fan of Peppa Pig; you could get lots of piggy/pink decorations and buy your child a fancy dress costume. You could do an ‘under the sea’ theme for a Spongebob Squarepants themed party, or tell everybody to dress as a hogwarts student for a Harry Potter themed party. Do it on something that will make your child think the whole day is magical! Whatever you decide on, make sure you have plenty of balloons from Balloons Galore.

Make the Food Fun

Make the food match the theme you’ve decided on. For example, a Harry Potter themed party will need magical looking food, full of chocolate wands/frogs, pumpkin cake, and green juice! Decorate the table and make like Heston Blumenthal to make the food as imaginative as possible. Even if you’ve decided against a theme, you could still make the food fun and colourful!

Think of Some Exciting Games

You don’t want to fill the whole party with games, as kids like to have freedom at parties. Think of one or two games that will excite them though, like pass the parcel (kids love this) and musical statues.

Hire Something Cool

You could hire something really cool to make your child’s party extra special. A bouncy castle is always a big winner at parties – even adults have a go! You could even choose a clown, magician, or face painter. Think of something your child will love and surprise them.

Play Some Music

Kids need music on in the background at a party, even if it seems like they’re not listening to it over all the screaming, shouting, and laughing. Stars like Katy Perry, One Direction, the Wanted, and Miley Cyrus are usually popular, but alter this list depending on your child’s tastes. Make it uplifting and dancey to set the mood for the day. You can play the music on a CD player, MP3 player and speaker, or through a laptop with Spotify.

Don’t forget your camera either, so you can get lots of picture of your child’s face lighting up on their birthday!
